Shifty Dot is a fantastic tool that can be used for a bunch of different games. We'll give you some ideas, but you can really do whatever you want with this one. The app is simple: Just pick the number of players and the screen with be filled with a group of boxes. A little white dot shifts around while it counts down. Watch the walk-through video below to get an idea of what you can do with this one.
|Mac||OSX 10.8 (Mountain Lion) or above|
|PC||Windows 7 or above|
|Projector (Optional)||This game can be displayed on any external monitor or projector.|
Shifty Dot is really easy to control. First, open the app and click on the gear icon in the left sidebar.
Next, enter how many players you're going to have. You can also think of this as how many sections you're going to use. For example, if you want to split your crowd into thirds and have each section do something when the dot lands on their color, just set the number of players to 3.
Not every game is going to need a timer. If you are going to use one, enter the amount of time, in seconds, next to the number of players. When you start the timer during your game, the circle will disappear based on the amount of time that you're set.
Now, click on the control icon in the left sidebar. This will show you all of the controls. You can either click on the buttons, or use the corresponding keyboard keys. At this point, it all depends on the game that you're playing. Checkout the walk-through video to get ideas.
